small blessings : day three

bath tub.  Our bathtub has been out of commission for  a long, long time and we finally replaced it with this summer’s bathroom renovation.  The kids enjoy the clawfoot tub so much ---- K-girl, especially.  She takes two or three baths, sometimes more, each day.  They loooooooooove soaking in the hotter-than-momma-likes-it water.

rain.  While day two of rain meant walking the quarter-mile into work, it was a welcomed and needed sight.  I especially love the sound of the rain falling while the windows are wide open.  The peaceful sound travels through the window as the grey sky peeks in the blinds.

boots.  The kiddos love their boots --- brown, worn leather for him and dark pink stitched for her --- and yesterday was the perfect day for them to wear to school.  They kept their footsies warm and dry.

email.  It is my saving grace some days.  As things get hectic or frustrating at our jobs, the hubs and I vent to one another.  Even without any detail, just being able to “talk” about it helps put it behind us before we reunite at home for the evening.

leggings.  These simple knit pants make the world of difference in our morning dress routine.  The K-girl is constantly exclaiming that her pants feel “icky,” even the jeans she tried on at the store and the next morning they were already icky.   These are our go-to pants for the day when nothing else feels comfy.
